A Pruning Back

Last weekend, I took a few lazy shots while pruning a few of our rosebushes in preparation for fall.  Other than that, I have not taken photos, nor gardened, nor read a book, nor done anything crafty since August 18.  I've cooked only a few meals.  Thankfully, I have a partner who is determined not to let us starve or eat boxed macaroni and cheese all the time.  The house is a in a state of . . . well, let's just say it's in a state.

My return to teaching, so far, has felt pretty unmanageable.  I think getting into the details on a public space would be unwise, but I'll acknowledge it's been a struggle.  I miss being home with G, of course, and I miss the slower pace of our days.  I miss reflecting on this blog, too.

Still seeking some balance here.

  1. I went back to work on the 17th and, like you, I am having some serious re-entry issues. I am terrified that we are 3 weeks into the semester and I feel like I'm still getting my bearings. It's so hard.

  2. Lots of pauses to take a deep breath, five minutes of journaling, a cup of tea at work, a friendly ear to talk to ~ trying to figure out how to weave together the pace you were accustomed to to the pace you're now in...

    I know what that's like.

So glad your partner and little G are there for you. Hope things smooth out very soon!

  5. Hi Angela
I found your blog while searching for paper crane mobiles, nice mobile by the way. My girls and I made one as a school holiday activity today. What a nice blog to stumble upon. I love your lists, I am a list addict also and would be overjoyed if I could join the fun.

  6. We miss you! But don't feel bad about not blogging or "being creative enough" or whatever. Shit happens. Ebb and flow.
