Baby Food Success!

This batch of carrots went much better than the last one! And I would dare say G agrees.

It's very simple really--- wash, peel, and chop a cup and a half of carrots; cover with water, bring to a boil, and simmer 15-20 minutes or until very soft.  Puree, cool, and freeze.  Put cubes in a freezer bag labeled with the date; they can be kept frozen for up to three months.

The only pitfall was a few remaining (albeit very small) chunks after pureeing everything in the Cuisinart.  Has anyone ever used a food mill?  Are they any better?

  1. Looks like they're a hit! I don't know how to make the chunks disappear: longer spin time? perhaps add a little of the boil water? I find adding liquids helps when I make smoothies, to get them really smooth.

  2. Hey Brooke! Thanks for the ideas. I added about 4 tbsp of the boil water and ran it through the food processor a couple times. I always feel like the Cuisinart misses a chunk here and there. Hmmmm . . .
